1. What this is
To celebrate the channel reaching 100,000 YouTube subscribers, I'm running a giveaway (a sweepstakes) for readers of Vitals, my free Sunday newsletter. These official rules govern it. By entering, you agree to them.
2. No purchase necessary
Entry is free. There is nothing to buy, and buying anything — from me, a sponsor, or anyone else — will not improve your odds.
3. Who can enter
Open to [CONFIRM: eligibility — suggest: legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C., 18 years or older at time of entry]. Void where prohibited by law. My household members and anyone who works on the giveaway with me aren't eligible.
4. How to enter
Subscribe to the Vitals newsletter using any signup form on shaunandersen.com during the entry period. One entry per person and per email address. Already a subscriber before the entry period? You're in automatically — being an existing subscriber counts as your entry. Extra email addresses, bots, and bulk signups don't count and get removed.
5. Entry period
The giveaway runs from [CONFIRM: start date] until [CONFIRM: end date — e.g. a set date, or "the day the channel reaches 100,000 subscribers," but it must be a definite date in these rules], 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Entries after that don't count for this giveaway.
6. The prize
[CONFIRM: prize description, number of winners, and approximate retail value (ARV) — e.g. "One (1) winner receives X, ARV $Y"]. The prize can't be transferred or exchanged for cash, though I reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the planned one becomes unavailable. Any taxes on the prize are the winner's responsibility.
7. Odds
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. That's it — no formula, no favorites.
8. Picking & notifying the winner
The winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries within [CONFIRM: selection timing — suggest: 7 days after the entry period ends], and notified by email at the address they entered with. If the winner doesn't respond within 7 days, or the email bounces, an alternate winner may be drawn. I may ask the winner to verify eligibility (like age and residency) before the prize ships.

10. Not sponsored by the platforms
This giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with YouTube, Google, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or Meta. By entering, you release all of them from any liability connected to it. Any questions go to the sponsor, not to those platforms.
11. Your info
Entry information is handled the same way as everything else on this site — see the privacy policy. Entering signs you up for Vitals; you can unsubscribe at any time (even before the drawing) without affecting an entry you've already made.
12. The boring-but-necessary part
I can suspend or cancel the giveaway if fraud, a technical failure, or anything else beyond my control breaks the fairness of it, and I can disqualify entries that game the system. These rules are governed by the laws of the State of California. If a court finds part of these rules unenforceable, the rest still stands.
